Our Story.

Six years ago today, Jeff and I had our first date! I cant believe it has been six years since I met my best friend. I thought it would be kind of fun to write about how we met and our first date.

In 2005 I had just recently moved to Arizona and was enjoying living near a city, since I grew up in a small town. I dated alot....but nothing really went past a couple dates....either he wasn't into me....or I wasn't into him. So in August I set a goal that I was done dating for awhile and wanted to start figuring out what to do with my life.

During that time Myspace was very popular....and of course I had a account to keep in touch with all my friends from California. One day I got on and I had a message....I was pretty excited! I thought maybe it is a friend that misses me :) But it was a message from Jeff DeMoss and there was no picture to go with it...and I had no idea who this person was. Being curious I opened it and I cant remember exactly what it said....but it was a very friendly email....I will be honest, It wasn't the first time I have received a email from a stranger....and I usually just deleted them....but something made me email him back....I just had to do it.

I found out that he found my profile looking for people he went to high school with in the Vail area. When he did the search I was the first to pop up :) We emailed back and forth for a couple of days.....Then I found that he worked at the fire department right down the street from my parents house! I was like HOLY MOLY a fire fighter WOW! and he is working right down the street CRAZY....( I had always had crushes on fire fighters.) We decided that we would talk on the phone one night.. We talked for hours. He was so easy to talk to and he made me laugh. At the end of that phone call he asked me on a date.....

(Now let me get this out there.....We were not searching for someone to date on Myspace and Yes it did cross my mind that maybe he is a crazy online person....but for some reason I had a really good feeling about the whole thing.)

I said yes and we decided to go out the next day after I got off work. Now since I wasn't expecting this date to go anywhere..because of my past dating experiences..I decided I was going to wear yoga pants and a t-shirt....and if anyone knows me very well....If I knew I was going to meet my future hubby that night....I would have spent hours upon hours of primping ....but no for some odd reason I wore yoga pants....sigh.

I met him at his apartment parking lot....and I would never forget that moment..... I just got off the phone with him letting him know to come down and meet me....He got down there right as I was getting out of my car....I shut my door and looked up .... I thought lightning had struck my heart. I couldn't breath...in a good way......I just knew he was going to be something special.... It was such a weird feeling. We both just couldn't stop smiling at each other. Then I felt like a idiot wearing yoga pants ( but I guess that was a good thing....I didn't false advertise.....I wear yoga pants all the time now lol)

He took my to Texas Roadhouse....I ordered Chicken because I was so nervous and picked the cheapest thing on the menu....I'm a huge steak girl...it was a sacrifice lol. I ate everything off my plate....I was alittle embarrassed by this....but it turns out...he was impressed by it lol. After we had dinner, We watched the Notebook.....and the rest is history.

I am so grateful I took that chance to meet him....My life has been truly blessed since then! I love you
 babe....Happy 6 years.

Auntie Kisses.

The other day I realized I am the Aunt that gives way to many kisses and pinches cheeks.....I only pinch cheeks on my older nieces and nephews....because it is fun to watch them squirm :) in a loving way. But I just so hard not too....I love all of them so much and they are just sooooo CUTE!

So here's how it starts. You hand me a cute baby.
Then I notice the cute squashie cheeks.....

Then this happens......

I just cant help it :)

Our New Joy.

We have always wanted a dog. Now that was have a house of our own.....we figure there is no better time then the present. So we got a Chocolate Lab and named her Bailey. I have always wanted a dog named Bailey.....I know there are a million other dogs in the world named Bailey. But the name just fit her.....and it is Irish....so it cant get any better then that.

Here is a video of her trying to get off the couch herself....the camera died right before she finally jumped off....but it is still fun to watch (Please ignore the couch color and wall color in this video....that couch is only in there temporally :) I don't have that bad of taste lol)

The Hand Mixer

So since I haven't had aton of time lately to upload all the house pictures....I figured I would write a little post to hold you over until I can put the house post together.

Hand mixers are not my favorite tool in the kitchen. I have a love hate relationship with them....They are great when I don't want to use my kitchen aid....but they also freak me out alittle.

I was a young teenager and I loved to bake. I still do :) I was making some cookies and at the time I had very long hair. As I was mixing the yummy cookie dough...I leaned forward to look in the bowl and in no time The mixer was wrapped up in my hair....all the way to my scalp....now what do you do when this happens? Well I will tell you what not to do....do not scream for your mother....and start crying....like I did.....just simply unplug it. Once My sweet mother unplugged it for me she carefully unwrapped the bent beaters out of my cookie doughed hair.

Now cut to a few years later......I am using the new hand mixer to make some cookies....since the one that ate my hair was all bent......I leaned over the bowl and what do you know....just a second later the beaters where stuck in my hair all the way to the scalp.....and what did I do....screamed for my mother in a panic....It still did not dawn on me to unplug the thing......

One thing I learned.....It takes me twice to learn to put my hair up while I bake :)
