One Month

Dear Jackson,

This first month with you has been such a blessing in our lives. There are so many emotions that we have felt. Such happiness and love we never knew we could ever feel. Your dad and I just love to stare at you when you are sleeping....or laugh at all the cute faces and noises you make.

Bailey even thinks you are the greatest thing. She loves to sleep next to your bassinet. She has to be right there during bath time and she always has to make sure you are ok when you start crying.....We are sorry when she licks your feet....we try to catch her before she does it....but she just loves you so much.

You LOVE bath time, your favorite part is getting your hair washed.

You love to be sung to. "You Are My Sunshine" "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "I Stand All Amazed" are your favorite songs. (Sorry about the last one, your Mom needs to learn some more songs...so she starts singing church hymns)

You love car rides, they put you right to sleep

You are a very impatient eater and you love to growl when you eat. Your Dad and I call you a little goat. You always make a goat sound when you are hungry.

You hate your crib.......your beautiful crib! But that's ok....your mom isn't ready for you not to be in the same room with her.

You have to sleep with a hat on. You cry until we put it on.

You only wake up twice a night...which you mom appreciates a lot.

You love to lay on your dads tummy. You are so strong that you can even sometimes lift your head to watch him talk to you.

You love to sit in your bouncy seat and stare at all your toys.

The first words your mom said to you was "We have waited for you for so long. You are so beautiful." and its true...you were so worth the wait. You have brought so much joy to our family. We love you so much! Happy one month....

We are excited for the many more we get to be with you.

Love,

Your Dad and Mom.

Jackson's/Spare Bathroom

We have a very big spare bathroom,  We didn't have the extended counter put in the bathroom....because it was a extra upgrade we didn't want to add, but instead put some kind of armour or shelving.....just something.

Now that we have Jackson on the way. We wanted to make the spare bathroom his and find a way to make it organized, so that bath time goes pretty smoothly.

Jeff had this book shelf/TV stand since before we were dating. I have always liked it and it has come in handy through the years we have been married....with the new house we were not sure where to put it, so we were going to donate it to Goodwill.....until I was thinking wait! it just might fit in the spare bathroom! I was excited, and told Jeff about it.....he thought I was a little crazy but he was a good sport. We took off the original back and replaced it with bead board...then painted it white.

Here is a before and after of the shelf.

I loved the way it turned out! Jeff did such a great job!

So here is a before of the spare bathroom.

Here are the afters of the bathroom

One day we would like to paint the walls a color and have a duck theme....but for now I think it is perfect and holds all his bath things pretty well.

OH! and please excuse Bailey's butt in one of the pics.....she is my shadow :)

Baby Shower

My family put on a baby shower for the soon to be favorite Grandchild......well until he gets preempted by another bundle of joy one day.

I loved everything about it. My sister spent hours on Pinterest, and with families help, put together one of the cutest baby showers I have ever seen :)

Since Jackson's nursery is Baseball (Cubs) Themed, they went with a baseball themed shower.

With a amazing baseball ticket invite

 With Baseball themed decorations

                            Yummy food and drinks.

                   Some adorable take home favors.

I had a great time with family and friends. We played games, ate, and laughed.  Thanks for the wonderful shower and all the beautiful gifts that will help start Jackson's life in this world. I couldn't have asked for a better shower.

Nesting

I used to think nesting was fake until recently...........I have always been a little OCD when cleaning to begin with.....so I thought it was that, but as I sit and really pay attention to what I am cleaning....I blame the nesting.

Here are some things I have done....that will not help or even affect Jackson if we brought him home without this done.........

- I organized and went through Jeff and my closet.......to me I finally feel I got rid of stuff. :)

- I completely scrubbed our washer and dryer to get every speck of lint and dust off of them.

- I got every water stain off our water glasses.....they sparkle....no joke.

- I scrubbed our stainless steal pots so they look brand new. I even washed the other pots just because               they were there.

- I want so bad to clean our baseboards.....but the thought of me telling Jeff I crawled around our whole house on my hands and knees....does not sound fun.

- I have no joke put everything through a cycle in the washer...minus Jeff and our dog Bailey.....it is a little tempting :)

I am really hoping Jackson comes soon.....So I can stop laying around and feeling I need to clean pointless things.

The bump

It has been pretty amazing to me how your body can create another human....its just amazing that it just knows what to do....to make a adorable baby or even your tummy to be able to stretch tot he size of a watermelon.

Right before I found out I was pregnant.....I notice a change in how my clothes fit.....but I thought it was because of Christmas and our vacation we were on.  None of the jeans I packed and I fit in a week before would button. After a melt down in the hotel room....I got a loving, yet stern lecture from my husband telling me he didn't like to hear me talk so bad about my self...I didn't deserve it. It clicked that day, that it didn't matter what pant size I wore...and even if i wasn't a size zero....I am healthy and living.  So I should embrace my big boned body I was born with :)

When I found out I was pregnant it made a little more since that I was a little swollen (I like to say)....I was beyond excited to rock the baby bump that was coming ahead and just could not wait.....I feel I started to show a little sooner then normal....in the beginning my little pooch seemed so big to me.....but now that I am almost 37 weeks....I had no idea what big was....and what my body was capable off.

So here is my baby bump pics so far.....I'm getting bigger by the day....I have to say I'm pretty excited to have the little guy, so I can lotion my own feet again. But at the same time I have a feeling I'm going to miss him being with me all the time....feeling his hiccups and his kicks in the ribs when I am singing in the car. I'm not sure if that's him saying "You sing awesome Mom!" or  "ugh Mom stop....you so are not beyonce"

I will never forget.

I debated on sharing this story....it is very close to my heart. Then I figured why not....I share everything else. :)

As many of you know it took us 4 years the get pregnant. The doctors didn't know why...and couldn't figure out why the medication they were giving me where not working......many times I was told I need to learn patience. Even the blessing I had during our fertility treatment experience I was told that I need to be patient.....That is not what someone wants to hear when they feel like they have been waiting forever. I started to get frustrated and lost faith that this was going to be in the cards for Jeff and I.

Soon after we announced we were expecting....people would share stories of how they have been praying for us....that meant the world to Jeff and I. I can never thank all of you enough. There is one story I learned a lot from. So here it is.

I received a email from my sister in law one day on Facebook about my nephew named Logan who is eight years old.....he is amazing.....I can always count on him being excited to see me....or tell me how he feels about me. He can always bring a smile to my face.

The Email said:

Logan has been asking me about you having a baby for the past year. I told him that you wanted a baby, but that Heavenly Father has a plan. That he could pray to HF to ask for what he wanted. He broke into verbal prayer every time no matter where or what we were doing. I wanted to tell you but didn't know how. We love you and are excited for you....all of us!

Of course I just cried trying to read this to Jeff. I felt so loved and grateful to have such great family.

We went to his baptism a couple of weeks later and he told everyone that I was pregnant. I loved his excitement. In one of the talks that was given to him they were talking about prayer and that his prayers will be answered. Right as the person said that he just stated that they already have been. I went and talked to him after and being me smothered him in hugs and kisses....he just kept saying I wanted you to have a kid so bad and that he was happy and I just kept telling him I loved him and thank you.

He has been such a example to me.....he just had such great faith and he didn't even fully understand the situation....I kept asking my self Why did I doubt god? Why didn't I just have faith that it was all going to work out like Logan did.  He has taught me that I need to have faith and not doubt when things get hard. I hope that one day he will know how much this has meant to me and how much he means to me.

When I first saw you.

After we found out I was pregnant from the beautiful pink plus sign, I called the doctor that day to set up a appointment....it was scheduled for a few days later, It seemed forever away and I couldn't wait to find out how far along I was and all the stuff I should be doing.

Due to my fertility problems...the Doctor really couldn't pin point when I conceived ....because I don't have a normal cycle and my ovaries like to hoard eggs, They scheduled me for a ultrasound the next morning to see how far along I was. The thought of having to wait 24 more hours killed me....but some how I slept that night...well I kind of slept :)

That next morning I just remember Jeff and I heading to the appointment and the excitement we both had.....We both just still couldn't believe it. I just remember praying that this was actually real.

We got into the room and there was a big flat screen T.V. for us to see the little nugget on. I will never forget that first moment I saw Jackson. He was just alittle shrimp. It was instant relief for me. I looked over at Jeff and he was just staring with this huge grin on his face, I thought how lucky am I and I felt proud that I finally gave him this. Then I saw the heart beat....and it became real to me. I cried like a baby. I was 6 weeks and he had a great heart beat. Even as alittle shrimp...I thought he was the best thing ever.
