Random Thoughts of a Stay at Home Mom.

I am going on three months at being at home full time. I have to say, some days I love it, and some days I think....WHAT ON EARTH DID I DO!!!!!

Don't get me wrong I am very blessed to be able to do this, but it is not as easy as I pictured it. The first couple of weeks were so easy, I loved every second of it. Then it started to get hard for me. Some days I would never leave the house. I had no social life. I was very guilty of not showering until 9:00 pm.  

Jeff works weird hours. He works 24 hours (7:00am-7:00am) at the fire house, then 12 hour (11:00am-11:00pm) shifts at the hospital. I would see him at midnight half asleep and for a short time in the mornings. This was very hard for us at the beginning. We have finally found a way to saver the time we all have together, and that has helped me to get out of my lonely funk. 

Thanks to my sister and my mom, they let me call them almost everyday. They patiently listen to my random stories, and my ongoing talk about how Jackson can drool. I couldn't do this without there advice and wisdom.

Even though I feel like I do laundry all day, the dishes a million times and open the back door a million times for my dog. I am very happy this is my job. I finally found a balance to take care of my family and also take care of me.

Mothers Day.

I got to celebrate my first real mothers day!  It was very special because I got to spend it with both my boys! That can be a very rare occasion in the DeMoss house.  Jeff works two full time Jobs! He does such a amazing job juggling that, along with being a Father and Husband.

We just relaxed and enjoyed each others company.

They got me a beautiful statue to go with the rest of my collection!

This mothers day was different for me, before I struggled with mothers day. It was a reminder that being a mother might not be in the cards for me, the way I always pictured it. That is a lot of self pity, but is also a emotion many infertile women struggle with. 

Jackson was a answer to my many prayers. Not a day goes by that I stare at him, just in awe that he even is here. He is a constant reminder that the struggles in life are worth it. That any hard ship you are going through at the time, that there is a end in sight...... whatever it might be. 

I also learned that mothers day isn't just about mothers. It is about women. It is about the women that take the little extra time helping a child. Even if it seems small to you, it can be big for that child. 

I want to say Happy Mothers day to all the women out there, You are all truly amazing. 

Thank you for all the women in my life and for all the little things you have done for me, they have been big things for me.

Thank you Jackson, for making me grow up and be the best I can be. I love you

Jackson's Nursery

We almost have Jackson's nursery done. Almost. I thought I would share what we have done. We love his nursery, Jeff wanted to do a baseball Cubs theme. Jeff painted the whole thing. He did a great job!

Jackson likes to look at all the things hanging, He also likes to try to grab the stripes on the wall.

We only want to add two more things.

1. Curtains: We just have a ugly brown sheet hanging....but the good thing about it is, it blocks out all the light and makes Jackson's nap like a champ!

2. Baseball Flag: Jeff wants to make a American flag out of baseballs. its going to take over 100 baseballs. We are slowing collecting them. Anyone have any old unwanted baseballs hanging around? We would love to take them. 

Jackson First Time Swimming.

We had a big family weekend last week. My oldest brother and his family where able to come visit for my Dads 60th Birthday. So we did a big pool party in April. Only in Arizona is it warm enough to swim in April. Sadly Jeff was sick and had to stay home so he missed out, but we still had a good time.

Jackson loved the pool. He wasn't scared and didn't cry! I have alittle water baby on my hands!

He loved watching all the kids swim! Cant wait to take him again.

Our first Family Vacation.

Two of our dear friends from Chicago area got married in April. We decided to fly out for the wedding and visit some of Jeff's family. 

I have to admit I stressed about this vacation for months! I was terrified to fly with a baby. I kept thinking that it was going to be the worst experience ever......but to my surprise Jackson did amazing. He was a trooper through the whole thing. I think its because I told him if he was good I would buy him what ever he wanted.....he just looked at me with a blank stare.....I think he got it.

As a Family we where able to catch Jackson's first Baseball Game. How fitting that it was the cubs at Wrigley field!

Thanks to Nana and Pappa, Jeff and I where able to spend a night in Chicago by our selves! We attended a Blackhawks game and got to explore the city.

We had a amazing time! Cant wait to do it again.

8 months.

Dear Jackson,

 You are eight months old! You are becoming such a big boy!

You love trying new foods.

You try to grab everything!

You Love to cuddle with Dad.

You went to your first Baseball game at Wrigley Field! Go Cubbies!

We went to visit your Grandpa and Nana

You can get on your hands and knees all by your self! 

You love to make a mess of your toys
